Wi-Fi connected generators are able to maintain their date and time by regularly checking an online time server. This time server is able to read what time zone you are located in and any daylight savings status' needed. The time zones are compared to the UTC time zone (UTC is the "0" offset time zone). If the generator cannot verify the current time zone via online connection, the generator will default to the UTC (0 time zone).
In Milwaukee Wisconsin, The time zone when daylight savings time is not in effect, is CST which is equal to UTC-5. This means 12:00 PM CST is the same as 5:00 PM UTC. In the event of the generator failing to reach the online time server, the time on the generator would seem to have shifted by 5 hours. This would cause event scheduled to occur at 12:00 PM CST to actually be executed at 7:00 AM CST due to the 5 hours shift.
This time shift should automatically correct itself the next time that the generator is able to connect to the online time server.
NOTE: The generator can be forced to check the time server when needed by rebooting the generator's control panel. Learn more about that process here.
