When attempting to add a generator to FLEET, you may be presented with a prompt that states: "The email address you have entered is already in use, please contact Support for assistance."
This indicates that the email address that you have provided is already in use for an existing Mobile Link Account. This can be caused by a number of reasons:
- The Customer you are adding, already created a Mobile Link account with a FREE tier subscription for this generator.
- The Customer you are adding, already has a Mobile Link Account for an existing, previously installed Generator
- You have inadvertently entered the wrong email address and are accidentally providing another user's email address
If this message is displayed, it is not necessarily an indication that there is something wrong. The software is simply notifying you that there is already a Mobile Link account in place with this email address as a User ID. If you have verified that the email address specified is correct, simply click Use Account to continue.
Note: When activating a generator online at ActivateGen.com, a FREE tier Mobile Link Account is automatically created for a generator owner based on the email address provided. This is a very common reason this message would appear. Online Activation is also performed when a generator is added to FLEET. If a generator is expected to be managed in FLEET, it is recommended to activate the generator by Adding it to FLEET, rather than going to ActivateGen.com. This will prevent this message from appearing.
