Fleet provides additional information about the reliability of a Generac Connectivity Cellular device’s connection to help you troubleshoot potential connection issues.
On the Generator details page, when a generator in your Fleet has the Connectivity Cellular device installed, you will now see a Connection Reliability rating with the device information.
How is the reliability rating calculated?
We monitor the frequency of connection data being reported to evaluate reliability of the connection. Gathering the connection data to evaluate reliability can take up to 5 days of reporting activity. If the device is currently Offline or reliability is still being evaluated, we will display Unknown until reliability is available.
- Poor – The device has little to no connection, which may lead to missing information.
- Fair - The device has an intermittent connection, which may lead to a delay in relaying information.
- Good - The device has a consistent connection and sends information regularly.
- Unknown – There is not enough recent information to calculate the reliability score. There must be at least 3 data points over a five-day period are required.

Fair
This device is experiencing a temporary connection issue that may self-correct. No action is needed currently.
Note: Setting up a Wi-Fi network as a backup will improve communication reliability. This functionality is currently only available for nextgen generators with a connectivity cellular accessory
Poor
- Please unplug and re-plug the cable harness to the device to ensure it is connected appropriately.
- If the issue is not resolved replace the cable harness (but not the device).
- If those don’t work, investigate a firmware update.

Enabling WIFI back up for nextgen generators:
This is completed in the field pro app, once you have connected the app to the generator in question. The WIFI aspect will be available under the configuration details.
