At Generac, one of the ways we are committed to fulfilling our promise of energy resiliency is by providing connected solutions that help ensure that homes that fuel their Generac home-standby generators with fuel tanks allow the homeowner, generator dealer, and fuel supplier always to know how much fuel is left in the tank and how that translates into current available run time. This ensures peace of mind for homeowners, reduces outage-related calls to generator dealers, and helps fuel suppliers deliver fuel promptly to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply.
Generac now offers fuel tank enrollment capabilities to Fleet dealers for homeowners who use fuel tanks to supply energy to their homes in the absence of a generator, as well as a fuel tank dashboard to monitor fuel tanks associated with generators and non-generator equipment. NEW Monitor Fuel Tanks on the Fuel Tank Dashboard
We now offer a Fuel Tank Dashboard that gives you a high-level view of tank device, battery, and fuel status information for all the tanks you monitor (those that support home standby generators and those that support other equipment).
The Fuel Tank Dashboard offers several options to help you view the fuel tanks you monitor.
View Summary Information
See a quick view of the number of tanks in each fuel, battery, and device status so you can understand how many fuel tanks need immediate attention and how many fuel tanks you need to monitor to ensure they are ready to fuel the equipment they are supporting.
View Individual Fuel Tanks
See a list of all the fuel tanks you monitor so you can view information about each tank's fuel level, battery level, device status, and account holder so you know if there is an issue and need to send out a technician or alert the customer if there is not enough fuel to support the equipment during an average power outage.
Sort Fuel Tank List
The default sort order of the fuel tank list is ascending by fuel level from a bad fuel level to a good fuel level. You can change the sort order ascending or descending by fuel level, battery level, or device status by selecting the arrows next to the column headings.
Export Fuel Tank List
You can download a list of the fuel tanks you monitor to a CSV file. The file will contain the fuel tanks present in the Fuel Tank dashboard when the download was requested.
Access Detailed Information for a Fuel Tank
You can view the Fuel Tank Details page and detailed information for a specific fuel tank by selecting the Details button in the row for that fuel tank.

Fuel Tank Details Tile Heading
Color
We have updated the color of the fuel tank details tile heading to now indicate fuel level status.
- Green = Fuel level is good. There is no action needed.
- Yellow = Fuel level reminder is present. You need to contact the customer soon to have the fuel tank refilled to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply.
- Red = Critical fuel level warning is present. Contact the customer immediately to have the fuel tank refilled to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply.
- Grey = No fuel information is available. This might be because the device is disconnected and not communicating.
Device Status
The device status now appears on the left side of the fuel tank details tile heading. You will see Online or Offline.
Note: The device status (icon and text) was removed from the bottom of the fuel tank details tile.
NEW Enroll a Stand-Alone Fuel Tank
Generac has extended its fuel tank monitoring services in Fleet to cover fuel tanks providing energy to non-generator equipment of any fuel type, as this will ensure that the equipment will continue to receive power without disruption.
You can enroll a stand-alone fuel tank for monitoring by selecting the +Add Fuel Tank button on the Fuel Tank Dashboard. The enrollment process is similar to the tank enrollment for a fuel tank connected to a generator and the user interface will guide you through the process. You will need the following information before you start the process:
- Device ID
- Account holder's name, address, phone number, and email.
- Tank information such as name (what does the customer want to call it), address, orientation, capacity, and equipment the fuel tank will fuel.
